J&B has developed an excellent and well established reputation for carrying out highways works within the South East of England, specialising in works in the busy and challenging inner London areas. The company has built up a good working relationship and channels of communication with most of the London Boroughs, utilities and statutory undertakers, all of which allow for a smooth interface on site.

The company has steadily grown from a purely highways based organisation into a very capable multitalented construction company operating throughout London and South East England.  We now also carry out a wide range of Civil Engineering, Main Drainage, Building and Environmental projects.

The company has been involved in several prestigious contracts with Local Government, Public Utilities, Hospitals and Educational Establishments. We have also carried out both civil engineering and building projects for a number of satisfied clients in the private sector.

We have gained a good reputation within the industry for delivering a quality end product on time and within budget.

We are also very familiar with the constraints of working in close proximity to large numbers of people, as many of our contracts have been on the public highway and in busy shopping centres, as well as schools, colleges and hospitals. Safety is always a paramount concern on our sites and all of our personnel are trained in aspects of H&S appropriate to their job and this training is monitored and regularly reviewed and updated.

The section of the company engaged in highway and paving works has worked for most of the London Boroughs at various times throughout the company’s history and also for Local Authorities in Essex, Hertfordshire and Surrey. We have been the main contractor on a number of schemes, which have won design awards, particularly in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, London Borough of Harrow, London Borough of Brent, London Borough of Barnet, and London Borough of Hillingdon.

We have a dedicated and close knit management team that are always on hand to liaise with our clients and to make sure that our contracts remain on programme and are carried out to the approval of our clients.

J & B have constructed several playgrounds and sports areas and carried out landscaping works for schools and colleges throughout the south of England.

J & B Construction have always considered quality to be of great importance both in our works on site and in the way in which we plan and control our projects and also in the way that we deal with our clients.

In 1992 we installed a documented Quality Management System within the company which would record and monitor the quality of our own performance against recognised standards laid down under BS 5750 (the standard at that time).

In 1995 we achieved accreditation under the new European Quality Standard BS EN ISO 9002. We are currently registered with the British Standards Institute under the present BS EN ISO 9001:2000 standard.

Safety and Training are always of paramount concern on every J & B site. All of our staff are aware of the need for careful planning and organisation of our projects and are familiar with the requirements of the Construction Designand Management Regulations 1994 (CDM).  All of our    personnel undergo regular Health & Safety Awareness Training in addition to specific job related training courses such as NRSWA, confined spaces training, use of abrasive wheels, use of lorry mounted cranes, and CSCS for personnel working on building operations.
