commenced October 2006 due for completion December 2006
Description:
A project involving the closure to traffic of one of the busiest roads in Harrow, while leaving pedestrian access to all of the shops and business premises at all times.
The works involved the removal of the existing block paved road surface exposing the reinforced concrete sub-base. We then had to work in close co-ordination with waterboard contractors who had to carry out repairs to their mains in several locations under the carriageway.
On completion of repairs by the waterboard we carried out permanent reinstatements of the reinforced concrete prior to resurfacing of the carriageway. At the same time as the carriageway works were underway we also had an operation in progress to re-pave the footways with modular / concrete block paving.
This project involved a high degree of carefully planned traffic and pedestrian management.
